Collaizer is intended for creating photo collages automatically. Several paper sizes available will let you organize your favorite photos in a single page.
Although the interface seems easy to use at first sight, I must confess that I had to consult the help document to find my way. However, everything became easier after I went through the collage creation process a couple of times. Following the order of the elements in the left panel will probably help.
The first step will be to create a photo library, this would not be so troublesome if the application supported including whole folders or selecting multiple photos at the same time. To make things worse, there is no visual clue to indicate that a photo has successfully been added to the library. After this, there is a feature called “Library Management”, which does not allow managing images at all. This means that after you have added photos to a library, you will not be able to exclude any of them, so you will have to create a new library instead.
After saving your library, you can start to create a collage layout. In this respect, you can add a background, a frame, artwork or photos. However, there is a single element that I consider most important here: the shape, because it will determine how the photos are arranged in the collage. You can use the shapes included in the application but you can also create your own.
Creating the collage itself is not difficult. You can configure the type of frame and shade. At this point, you must pay attention to the amount and enlargement settings for they will ultimately determine the appearance of the collage. Perhaps, you will have to experiment a couple of times changing the number of pictures you want to include and their size before you get the expected results. In addition, there is the capability to add graphic effects, such as color tuning or magnification to the photos, before you create a collage with them. The results will largely depend on your ability to design coherently; however, the application does an excellent job at assembling the desired photos to fit the shape provided.
